Getting started in Cyber Security
Hello, My name is Liladhar Bhandarkar. I am 17 years old. I am starting my journey in Cyber Security. I thought it would be a good idea to blog it. My goal is to get good in this field by the end of 2021. I don’t know if I would be able to do it in this amount of time. But I think I will learn a lot.
I want to get into web testing. I did some research and found what I have to learn.
For the first few months I want to focus on the basics:
- The command line ( linux and windows )
- Networking
- Operating Systems (linux and windows )
- Python ( so that I can get an idea of how developers think )
- HTML ( because I will be focusing on the web )
As for my current knowledge, I use Pop! OS (an Ubuntu based linux distribution) as my daily driver so I am familiar with the linux terminal (command line). I can do some basic coding in Python.
Resources:
- I read a book called Python Crash Course 2nd edition to learn python. This book teaches the basics about python.
I still need more practice to master Python. So I have downloaded another book called Automate the boring stuff with Python 2nd edition.
This book also teaches from the basics but has projects about automating. I am learning python for scripting so I think this will be helpful. I prefer books and if I don’t understand something I look for tutorials.
I will be posting on weekends every week. I will also write about the resources I used during the week. That’s all for today, thank you for reading.
